This is a highly stylized work, featuring a young Welsh knight who arrives at a mysterious ancient castle, where he encounters an illusion of the Holy Grail, but is unaware of it himself; the next morning, the castle is deserted, and the knight continues on his journey. When he suddenly realizes that he has seen the Grail and returns, the castle has disappeared, so he must continue his quest for the Grail. The film is entirely shot in a studio, with deliberately "fake" sets, and many of the dialogue and actions are repetitive, giving it a bit of a theatrical effect.
