Joachim is a successful television writer living in Paris. On the eve of his fortieth birthday, he decides to leave everything behind—his children, friends, enemies, lovers, and regrets—to start anew in America. Afterward, he returns to his homeland leading the "New Burlesque" troupe on a tour. The troupe members are filled with longing for Paris, France, inspired by Joachim. Their humorous performances and the voluptuous bodies of the showgirls captivate audiences of all ages. Despite the mediocre hotel accommodations and uninspired elevator music, the actresses create a novel, passionate, and joyous atmosphere. However, their dream of culminating the tour with a grand finale in Paris shatters when Joachim’s old "friend" betrays him, canceling their booked venue.
