The Holocaust has become history, but the past is not forgotten. Two sisters are daughters of Israeli survivors; the younger sister is insulted in Berlin as the "daughter of a murderer." The elder sister harbors resentment toward their dictator father and is skeptical of his admission about enduring humiliation to survive in Poland during the war, deciding to investigate the family's hidden secrets. Memories buried deep within her begin to surface, reopening old wounds and causing new pain. The elder sister even blames her cancer on the sins of her father as a form of karmic retribution.
