In a small town in Sicily, Gaetano has been the mayor for many years, notorious for his schemes and political machinations. However, as a new mayoral election approaches, he is once again preparing to use various deceitful strategies to maintain his power. People have become accustomed to the political whirlpool and dealings, turning a blind eye to Gaetano's tactics. Nevertheless, Gaetano's opponent this time is Natori (played by Vincenzo Amato), an honest and upright professor in his 50s, participating in politics for the first time. Natori is full of confidence and ideals, promising to change the political landscape of the town, break outdated practices, and introduce transparency and integrity. During the campaign, he faces various adversities and challenges, but he perseveres and ultimately wins the election. Once elected, Natori immediately begins to push for a new era of law and order in the town, trying to establish an honest and ethical government. He takes measures to combat corruption, increase government transparency, and encourage citizen participation in political decision-making. His new policies and reforms bring about significant changes in the town, but also trigger a series of challenges.
