Babe the pig initially arrived at Hogget's farm as a prize in a carnival show. The animals here each have their own roles and stick to their posts, and Babe is just one of the inconspicuous members. Babe, despite seeming clumsy, has a kind heart and friendly demeanor, gradually winning the affection of various animals, especially the noble sheepdog couple, Rex and Fly, who are devoted to the farm's flock. Rex, used to treating the “stupid” sheep roughly, gets frustrated by Babe's commendation from the owner. To prove his worth, Babe diligently learns herding techniques from the sheepdogs, but the harsh methods learned from Rex do not work well with the flock. Fortunately, Babe gradually figures it out and improves quickly. Babe's overstepping behavior meets discontent from other animals, and Rex feels even angrier about Babe's praise from the owner. Babe is going to participate in a sheepdog competition! This draws ridicule from others but gives Babe a chance to prove himself.
