The protagonist, Satoshi (played by Akira Yasuda), has been weak since childhood, but he has a strong mother (played by Mitsuko Baisho) who has always been by his side, providing him with careful care and endless love. A deep dependency is established between the mother and son, supporting each other. However, two years ago, his mother was diagnosed with cancer, and Satoshi had to take on the responsibility of comforting her, vowing to do everything he could to help her. During this time, he met his caring girlfriend, Mari, whose support became an important strength for Satoshi as he faced his mother's illness. Despite Satoshi doing his utmost to fight against cancer with his mother, she passed away in the spring of 2012. His mother’s death brought immense pain and loss to Satoshi, while his father and brothers began new lives. However, just when Satoshi thought he had completely lost his mother, he suddenly received a gift left by her. This gift became a warm ray of sunshine in Satoshi's heart, making him realize that although the loss of parents brings great pain, it can also inspire the power to change one’s life. In facing the inevitable proposition of death, Satoshi gradually learned to let go and accept, ultimately completing his farewell to his mother.
