Writer Barrie (Johnny Depp) is experiencing a period of creative drought. Every day, when he passes by the park, he sees a group of children playing. He stops to observe and finds out that the children are playing a pirate game, and they enthusiastically invite him to join their pirate crew. Barrie becomes a big kid; although he is a head taller than the others, he has a great time—props, roles, various plots, and the park transforms into a joyous fantasy world. This experience becomes the source of inspiration for Barrie's creation of "Peter Pan." The children's mother (Kate Winslet) is a widow who is also touched by the joyful atmosphere. Barrie interacts with them like family, enjoying simple happiness, yet it inevitably attracts gossip. However, Barrie's wife ultimately belongs to the real world and cannot enter Barrie's inner heart. The completion of "Peter Pan" is met with skepticism from many. However, the local response after the performance proves that Barrie's persistence was correct. At this time, Barrie and the children are facing a significant blow from the real world; their kind mother is drifting away from them…
