One day, the concubine Akin (played by Mitsushima Shinnosuke) of the unscrupulous merchant Horikite Saburōemon (played by Tsutsumi Shinichi) and the blacksmith Aru (played by Toda Erika), who is cruelly exploited by her scoundrel husband (played by Takeda Shinji), arrive at Tōkō-ji temple. There, they meet the temple inn's owner’s nephew, Shinjiro (played by Oizumi Yo), who is a medical apprentice attempting to treat Aru's burns while hoping to document the women's experiences into a timeless screenplay. Women from different backgrounds come one after another, standing together at a crossroads in their lives... The film is adapted based on Inoue Masaharu's novel "Tōkō-ji Hana Dayori."
