The U.S. military is collaborating with a secret lab to cultivate genetically modified soldiers. These illegal soldiers are confined to a secret island, monitored by dedicated personnel. Reporter Valerie (Emmanuelle Vaugier) has a husband who was a distinguished soldier, making him a subject of the experiments. To find her husband, she infiltrates the island alone. To get there, she boards a small yacht and develops a subtle bond with the man renting the yacht, Jack (Til Schweiger), who is a retired veteran with a mysterious past. Once on the island, they uncover military secrets and are soon pursued, with their boat being destroyed. In their escape, Jack is injured, and as heavy rain falls, they find themselves soaked and hiding in a remote cabin. They warm each other and share body heat.
