This film is a remake of the 1971 British horror film "Countess Dracula," based on true events, written, directed, and starred by Julie Delpy. In 17th century Hungary, the beauty of Countess Elizabeth (played by Julie Delpy) is famous far and wide. Since her husband died in the war, she has been living in solitude in her castle as she ages. At a court ball, Elizabeth meets the handsome and passionate nobleman István (played by Daniel Brühl), and they fall in love. However, their affair is met with strong opposition from István's father, who forces his son to Denmark and finds him a younger bride. Feeling despondent, Elizabeth seeks the help of the witch Anna for a beauty-preserving spell to win back her love. According to legend, the blood of virgins has miraculous effects on beauty, so Elizabeth secretly murders 650 virgins to bathe in their blood to maintain her youth. Ultimately, what awaits Elizabeth is not a return to love but imprisonment, leading to her death in prison. Yet behind this absurd and bloody event lies another secret...
