In Hong Kong, the economy is struggling, and ordinary people's lives are tough. Even those from both the underworld and the law enforcement are facing difficulties. A small-time gangster named San Jiao Bao (played by Lau Ching-Wan) is honest and loyal, but in an era where profit is paramount, his loyalty is both valuable and laughable. After painstakingly helping his old buddy Tu Yan Long (played by姜皓文) manage illegal market futures, they are hit by a massive stock market crash on the very day, and Tu Yan Long is on the verge of bankruptcy.
