Fang Desheng (played by Andy Lau) and He Baoling (played by Lau Ching-Wan) are hometown friends and childhood lovers with a deep affection for each other. However, Fang Desheng harbors a dream of becoming an actor. To pursue this dream, he must leave his hometown and He Baoling behind, moving to the big city to chase his bright future. One day, by coincidence, Fang Desheng meets Lan Jie (played by Ng Ka-Lun), who takes a keen interest in him.
