Young Lin (Kelly Chan) is suffering from leukemia. Just as she finds herself lost between life and death, she meets the mature and stable Scottish sailor, Ad (Wang Mindong). After hearing Ad's stories about his hometown, the Edge of the World, Lin feels an inexplicable connection. However, Ad suddenly disappears. In her moment of despair, Lin encounters A-Chung (Takeshi Kaneshiro), who specializes in finding lost items, and hires him to locate Ad. Through A-Chung's hard work, Lin and Ad reunite, as it turns out Ad is preparing to settle back in his hometown. After Ad leaves, Lin finds a sense of fulfillment and happiness while working with A-Chung, yet her heart remains burdened with thoughts of the Edge of the World, leading her to decide that before her life ends, she must visit there at least once.
