The wife of Long is murdered by a high-ranking official's son. The culprit escapes justice due to his powerful connections. In a fit of rage and impulsive decision, A Long (Zheng Haonan) kills the murderer, realizing he's gotten himself into deep trouble and decides to flee to Hong Kong with his cousin A Wen (Leung Siu Ho). After much hardship, Long and Wen finally reach Hong Kong, only to fall into the hands of a smuggling group, exploited by the gang leader A Kun. They are forced to work as black market laborers on a construction site, where A Kun not only withholds their wages but also tips off the police to capture them. Long and Wen manage to escape, but A Wen tragically falls to his death, while A Long is injured but manages to flee. A Long seeks refuge with his friend A Quan (Liao Qizhi). Years ago, during the war, A Long saved A Quan's life, and A Quan's wife, A Feng (Wu Jiali), is actually A Long's former lover. Feeling guilty for failing to repay A Long, A Quan takes him in. A Hung (Huang Rihua), the leader of the gang, pressures A Quan to join in on a robbery. A Quan, focused on passing his medical license exam, refuses to take risks, but A Hung is relentless. A Long cannot stand idly by and stands up for A Quan. A Hung, recognizing A Long's skills, resorts to both threats and persuasion to force him into cooperation, but A Long firmly refuses. A Quan, being sensitive and suspicious, becomes jealous due to A Feng's attentiveness to A Long, suspecting their old flame has rekindled. Eventually, to keep the household financially afloat, A Feng secretly works at a nightclub, which A Quan discovers. Feeling betrayed, A Quan decides to join A Hung’s robbery operation. Sha Zhan Sen, a former comrade of A Long, is now responsible for eradicating the gang. He learns of the connection between A Long and A Hung and seeks A Long’s help as an informant in the police operation against A Hung's robbery. To protect A Quan's safety, A Long agrees to Sha Zhan Sen's request. As A Kun realizes that the gang is becoming increasingly powerful, he aims to eliminate them swiftly and informs the police about A Hung's robbery operation. The police set a trap and capture or kill A Hung and his men. Due to circumstances beyond his control, Sha Zhan Sen is unable to warn A Long, who finds himself in danger. After a fierce gunfight, A Hung, A Quan, and others die tragically, leaving A Long as the sole survivor. A Long uncovers that this plot was orchestrated by A Kun. Driven by new and old grudges, he vows to take revenge on A Kun, daringly confronting him alone.
