A-Feng (played by Daniel Wu), Xiao-Hu (played by Yang You-Ning), and Da-Gang (played by Liu Ye) are good brothers and childhood friends who grew up together in the countryside. In pursuit of his dream to succeed, Da-Gang convinces them to come to Shanghai, rumored to be a land of gold, to make their fortune. After spending some time in Shanghai, Xiao-Hu and A-Feng arrive at the Paradise Mouth nightclub, where they meet the beautiful singer Lulu (played by Shu Qi) and the influential figure in Shanghai, the owner of the nightclub, Hong Ge (played by Sun Honglei). At the side entrance of the nightclub, A-Feng unexpectedly encounters the injured Mark (played by Zhang Zhen) and brings him home for treatment. From then on, the lives of these good friends begin to change around the intoxicating Paradise Mouth nightclub...
