Directed and starred in by French actor Albert Dupontel, "See You in the Sky" is adapted from the novel of the same name by crime fiction master Pierre Lemaitre. It tells the story of two soldiers who suffer punishment for witnessing their superior's crime. Unexpectedly, after retiring, the superior rises to success while they find themselves impoverished. To prevent the petty from succeeding, they decide to seek justice for themselves. The film vividly portrays French society after World War I, from the bloody, muddy battlegrounds to the extravagant, hedonistic parties. Yet, even the glamorous masks cannot hide the pain of life behind them.
