In the early days of the Pacific War, the U.S. military committed troops to the European theater, leaving them unable to turn the tide in the Philippines, resulting in the capture of 10,000 American and 60,000 Filipino troops on Bataan Peninsula. The Japanese army treated these POWs brutally, and in January 1944, the military decided to massacre the captives. This film tells the story of the events that occurred over four days in January 1944. Captain Prince of the Rangers belongs to Colonel Maclore's unit, which undertook the mission to rescue 500 American soldiers from a POW camp during General MacArthur’s northward advance. Due to the Japanese army's merciless treatment of prisoners, this operation had to be highly secretive. At the same time, Major Gibson (Joseph Fiennes) in the POW camp is struggling to survive and gather information from the outside world. Although local nurse Margaret and others are trying to help the prisoners, there is a persistent lack of medicine. To execute the order for the massacre, Military Police officer Nagai takes over the POW camp, while outside the camp, the Ranger soldiers finally arrive at their destination after a secret march, and the outcome of the rescue will soon be revealed…
