Hamdi (Jim Belushi) and his wife Ginny (Kate Winslet) live and work together in an amusement park. Ginny has been married before, and they co-parent her child from her previous marriage. One day, Hamdi's daughter Carolina (Juno Temple) finds her father; she once insisted on marrying a gangster and is now being hunted by the mob. Although Hamdi is very angry with Carolina for her past actions, her return to a better path clearly makes him want to repair their broken father-daughter relationship. Meanwhile, Ginny encounters lifeguard Mitch (Justin Timberlake), and they spark a romantic connection. Ginny wants to abandon everything to be with Mitch; however, after seeing Carolina, Mitch uncontrollably develops feelings for her.
