Manfred (played by Filippo Timi) is a taciturn mountain guide. He has experienced a very failed marriage, and after being ruthlessly abandoned by his wife, Manfred chooses to tightly shut his heart and spend time only with the mountains. One day, a woman named Marina (played by Claudia Pandolfi) arrives in the mountains with her child.
