Jobless youth Shitou (played by Chi Zhiqiang) only wants to find a job to earn some money to buy clothes for his widowed mother. Retired worker Zheng Wanquan (played by Gan Shaokang) wants to organize jobless youth to set up a large cooperative, allowing more people to enjoy the nearly lost traditional Beijing-style old tofu. Excellent teacher Wang Pu (played by Jiang Shui) wishes to have a desk to grade assignments. Meanwhile, Xiaona (played by Liu Yan), who is eager to marry abroad, and her "unpopular" father Li Pengfei (played by Li Ding) have also been deceived by others. Old Sun (played by Chen Qiang) is preoccupied with playing cards and neglects the management of his second son (played by Chen Peisi). As time goes by, people's concepts change, and their wishes gradually come true...
