Lu Dapian (played by Jacky Cheung) comes to Neiwan to substitute for his sister, who is about to go abroad. He is arranged to live in the second floor of the house of elementary school music teacher Chen Suyun (played by Jiang Ling). Dapian serves as the homeroom teacher for the fourth grade Loyalty Class. In class, he has to deal with the notorious troublemakers known as the "Three Swordsmen," while also caring for the reclusive student Zhou Xingwang (played by Zheng Chuanwen), who is affected by his parents' divorce. Chen Suyun is a quiet girl, and she shares her days with Dapian, and they develop feelings for each other. In Neiwan, fishing methods using poisoning and electric shocks exist, and Dapian is determined to eradicate these practices that severely damage the natural ecosystem. He initiates the "Love River and Protect Fish" movement at Neiwan Elementary School and promotes it in the Neiwan area. Zhou Xingwang's father, Zhou Wen (played by Cui Fusheng), often engages in electric fishing, which leads to mockery from classmates and subsequently causes him to run away from home. Dapian and Suyun set out to find the child; will they be able to come together in the end?
