The story begins in 2008, where Solomon (played by Harry Shum Jr.) is a chef. By fate's arrangement, he meets a woman named Jennifer (played by Jessica Rothe), and the two quickly fall in love. Their romance receives the blessings of both families and friends. After dating for several years, they both recognize that they want to spend their lives together, leading them to decide to get married. Their wedding date is set for August 2015, but just as the date approaches, Solomon is diagnosed with liver cancer, and it has already progressed to an advanced stage. Time is running out for the couple, yet Jennifer decides she still wants to be Solomon's wife, and they move the wedding date up to April 2015.
