After the Zunyi Conference, Mao Zedong (played by Gu Yue) confirmed his leadership position in the Red Army. In January 1935, during the cold and damp season of the southern region, the long-trekking Red Army arrived by the Chishui River. Surrounded by enemies on all sides, Mao Zedong, along with Zhou Enlai (played by Su Lin) and Liu Bocheng (played by Fu Xuecheng), carefully analyzed the enemy situation and decided to cross the Chishui River into Yunnan. After learning that Chiang Kai-shek (played by Zhao Hengduo) had sent Wang Daozhih (played by Jin Anguo) to encircle the Zha Xi area with 400,000 troops, the Red Army took advantage of the enemy's weak forces in northern Guizhou to successfully cross the Chishui River for the second time, seizing the river crossing. The Red Army, catching the enemy off guard, launched a surprise attack on the Laoshan Pass and marched into Zunyi, liberating the surrounding vast areas. Upon hearing the news, Chiang Kai-shek was both angry and frustrated, and he severely punished the officers who failed to enforce the law effectively. He deployed heavy troops to pursue the Red Army, preparing to wipe them out along the banks of the Wu River. Mao Zedong, assessing the situation, commanded the Red Army to cross the Chishui River for the third time, then quickly crossed again, leaving the enemy far behind...
