A tragic past has slowly distorted the personality of the young Li Jinlun (played by Alan Tam), filling him with hatred for society. One day, in a twist of fate, he kills someone, and the inspector in charge of the case (played by Peng Jianxin) publicly declares in the newspaper that the murderer must be an imbecile with sexual impotence, which angers Li Jinlun greatly. Inspector Dai Piao (played by Dong Piao) discovers that Li Jinlun is the true culprit and also unexpectedly learns that he is a filial son. Thus, he devises a plan. Dai Piao pretends to pursue Li Jinlun's mother (played by Deng Biyun), and Li Jinlun suspects something is amiss, fearing his mother may be exploited. He decides to kill Dai Piao to silence him, but Dai Piao tricks him with a fake death. Subsequently, he sets up a trap in Li Jinlun's home, gradually luring him into a trap. Li Jinlun mistakenly believes he has killed his beloved mother and ultimately breaks down, falling into the hands of the law.
