The story takes place in Poland in 1944, where the iron heel of the German army has trampled this land of suffering, turning it into a hell on earth. As a Jewish boy, Jacob (played by Robin Williams) and many other boys like him are forced to work like animals for the Germans, with all channels of information blocked by the military, Poland becomes a lonely city. One day, Jacob accidentally hears on the radio that the German army is engaged in fierce battles with the Soviet army, and the fighting is taking place not far away, just a few hundred kilometers from Poland in Benshanik. With high spirits, Jacob decides to share this valuable information with more people, and under Jacob's embellishments, the Allies, particularly the Soviets, have gained an irreversible advantage in the struggle. This false information lifts the spirits of the Jewish people but also reaches the ears of the Germans, who begin a meticulous investigation to capture the instigator of the rumors.
