Adam (played by Tom Hiddleston) and Eve (played by Tilda Swinton) are a pair of vampire lovers who have traversed centuries together, moving from the Middle Ages to the modern era. Throughout their journey, they have witnessed the ups and downs of human society and currently reside in separate locations in Detroit and Tangier. Adam is an underground musician who despises the incompetent and brutal humans, whom he refers to as "zombies." Plagued by depression, Adam even buys wooden bullets and contemplates suicide. When Eve learns of Adam’s dire state, she travels a great distance to be by his side. Their brief reunion brings new hope for Adam, but he is displeased by the intrusion of Eve's notorious sister, Ava (played by Mia Wasikowska). Ava's arrival brings disaster and turmoil, as she not only kills Adam's only human friend, Ian (played by Anton Yelchin), but also disrupts the lives of her sister and brother-in-law.
