The last living eunuch in China, Liu Laixi (played by Mo Shaocong), reflects on his life experiences in his waning years... Laixi entered the palace at the age of eleven. During a time of revolutionary upheaval, after leaving the palace, he formed a family with Zhao Di (played by Wen Bixia) and lived as a vendor. Revolutionaries Qiu Feng (played by Wu Jiali) and Hu Zhenzhong (played by Huang Rihua) attempted to assassinate a prominent figure but were saved by Laixi by chance. The head eunuch Xiao Dezhang (played by Luo Wen) appreciates Laixi's Peking opera skills and forces him back into the palace. Not wanting to implicate Zhao Di, Laixi sends her and her son to Guangzhou and attempts to drown himself, only to be saved by Qiu Feng and Hu Zhenzhong. The revolutionaries oppose the establishment of Manchukuo and plan to steal the Qing dynasty jade seal collected by Zhang Zuolin (played by Zheng Zeshi). Because Laixi has seen the seal, Qiu Feng invites him to join the revolution. Hu Zhenzhong and Laixi infiltrate Zhang Zuolin's warlord residence as undercover agents, but things go awry when Laixi is married off as a concubine to the debauched Zhang Zuolin. On the night of the wedding, Hu Zhenzhong, who escaped first, leads the revolutionaries in a strong attack on the warlord's residence, hoping to rescue Laixi...
