Directed by Kirill Serebrennikov (Petrov's Flu, Summer), written by Paweł Pawlikowski (Ida, Cold War), based on the novel by French writer Emmanuel Carrère, depicting the biographical novel of Russian radical poet and dissident Edward Limonov. The novel contains this description: "The shocking adventures of a radical Soviet poet: a homeless man in New York, a sensational figure in France, a political figure in Russia."
