This film is set against the background of the "Byeongja Horan." Thirteen years ago, loyal minister Choi Pyeongnyang was annihilated on the charge of "rebellion." His son and daughter, Nam Yi (played by Park Hae-il) and Chi-nyeon (played by Moon Chae-won), narrowly escaped, while Choi Pyeongnyang fought to the death. Nam Yi, carrying his father's bow and his last wishes, sought refuge with his father's close friend, Kim Moo-sun, along with his sister. Time passed, and in 1636, Kim Moo-sun's son, Seo-joon, proposed to Chi-nyeon. Feeling sensitive about her identity as a descendant of the Choi family due to their father's misfortunes, Nam Yi wanted to reject the marriage. However, with Seo-joon's sincerity and Kim Moo-sun's insistence, the Choi and Kim families celebrated the union. But on the day of the wedding, the Later Jin invaded Korea.
