In an era filled with war and sorcery, Solomon Kane (James Purefoy) loses himself amid endless greed and slaughter, nearly becoming a puppet of the demon king. Surviving against all odds, Solomon returns to a monastery in his homeland of England, hoping to live a life free from killing. However, under the guidance of a priest, he sets out on the road home. Outside, chaos reigns with murder and plunder, and as Solomon travels alone, he faces grave danger, only to be saved by the Crusoe family, who are preparing to migrate to America. During his time with the Crusoe family, Solomon experiences warmth and trust. One morning, the Crusoe family is attacked by a group of evil warriors who kill Mr. Crusoe and two sons, kidnapping his daughter Meridith (Rachel Hurd-Wood). Before dying, Mr. Crusoe begs Solomon to save his daughter, telling him that only by rescuing Meridith can his soul find redemption. Swearing never to kill again, Solomon must pick up his sword once more to save Meridith and seek redemption for his soul... This film is adapted from the 1928 novel of the same name by American writer Robert E. Howard.
