Nick is an Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms Agency officer who prefers to work alone. This time is no different. When he learns that a weapons deal is about to take place, the volatile Nick descends from a helicopter, causing the arms dealers to scatter in panic. After a shootout, the leader of the arms dealers escapes in a frenzy. Nick relentlessly pursues him and realizes that the arms dealer, cornered with no way out, takes a girl hostage. Without hesitation, Nick shoots him dead, but as he does, he has pulled the pin from a grenade, killing the girl instantly. Devastated and guilt-ridden, Nick falls into despair. Soon after, a colleague who was working undercover in prison is killed. Upon hearing the news, Nick goes to the hospital and feels that something is amiss after seeing the body. To uncover the truth, Nick decides to infiltrate the prison as a criminal.
