In the dead of night, a couple, eager with excitement, decided to swim in a small lake in the park, only to be swept away by a sudden whirlpool. Three years later, the Geological Institute of Natural University organized an expedition to investigate a huge pit that had suddenly appeared on an empty plot of land at the edge of the city, with Nina participating in the survey. Three years ago, Nina was a worker at the city's largest mine—the Fastener Mine—where her father Hess and brother Dick also worked. However, a mining disaster three years ago changed the lives of Nina's family completely; her father narrowly escaped after being trapped for 12 days but witnessed Dick's death, leading the family to distance themselves from the mine and their former life. The discovery of the giant pit rekindles Nina's bad feelings, and indeed, through a series of advanced detection methods, Nina obtains a shocking set of data indicating that the pit is just the tip of the iceberg, and a greater collapse is imminent. After the mining disaster three years ago, Montan Energy, the mine's owner, claimed to have spent 28 million euros to fill the mine pit, assuring that there would be no collapse issues. However, the data in Nina's hands is the best proof—Montan Energy merely made a superficial effort and did not fill the pit deep underground. Further analysis leads Nina to predict that a hospital located above the mine will collapse within 24 hours, followed by more buildings being swallowed. Nina immediately seeks help from the rescue department, boldly proposing to use explosives to blast the sand and gravel layers in the ground to fill the surrounding mine's void. However, the person in charge, Vilande, scoffs at her suggestion. With no other options, Nina decides to find a solution herself. Weiser, Ali, and Joseph, who had all worked at the Fastener Mine and experienced the disaster, are persuaded by Nina to form an expedition team to delve into the depths of the mine and implement the blasting plan. Weiser is familiar with circuits, Ali knows the ventilation systems, and Joseph excels at drilling; everything is ready except for a blaster. Nina unexpectedly encounters her ex-boyfriend Thomas, a professional blaster currently working for Montan Energy. Thomas agrees to join, and Hess insists on accompanying them. Thus, a group of six sets off. The narrow passage prevents them from carrying any equipment inside, and upon reaching the mine's interior, Nina's predictions are confirmed. The group splits up to search for the abandoned equipment from that year to prepare for drilling holes for the explosives. Unexpectedly, Joseph is mysteriously killed. The group arrives at the center of the previous explosion, discovering the broken drill rod number 16. Hess realizes that the disaster was caused by the operator of drill rod number 16's misoperation, leading to the explosion and mining disaster, and Joseph's body was found in the number 16 storage area, indicating that he must have seen the shift schedule before his death and knew who the operator was, thus becoming a victim. Just as Hess suspected, Weiser is the operator; he acknowledges his actions. The blasting proceeds smoothly, and a massive disaster is bravely averted by Nina and her team, with Weiser and Montan Energy receiving the punishment they deserve.
