Jack is a veteran suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder; some of his stress responses severely affect his daily life, but Jack still puts in all his effort to care for his sister. One day, when Jack and his sister go out as usual and reach the Tobin Memorial Bridge in Boston, they find that the bridge is blocked. It turns out that a group of fully armed criminals is hijacking a police car transporting prisoners and taking everyone on the bridge hostage. They demand a huge ransom from the government and the release of their teammates. As the lives of innocent people and his sister are threatened, Jack steps up. With the skills he learned in the military and the cooperation of the hostages, he engages in a battle of wits and courage with the criminals, taking down several of the villains. Ultimately, in collaboration with the SWAT team, he foils the plot and rescues many hostages.
