Everything that needed to be said has been said, but since no one was listening carefully, the person involved could only repeat it over and over again. Several years ago, Japanese journalist Shiori Ito filed a civil lawsuit against media mogul Keisuke Yamaguchi for date rape, which stirred up a massive response and directly led to the Japanese courts revising sexual assault laws, marking her as a pioneer of the #MeToo movement in Japan. Her case was published in a book, and now she herself directs a documentary that recounts the victim's experience.
