In the heart of a snow-covered forest, a gentle squirrel mother (voiced by Helena Bonham Carter) tells her children the legend of the Gruffalo: the adorable Gruffalo child (voiced by Shirley Henderson) tries to enter the dark forest but is roughly pulled back by his father (voiced by Robbie Coltrane). The father warns the child that the dark forest hides the terrible Mouse, and encountering it will surely result in harm. As night falls and snowflakes swirl, Gruffalo father falls into a deep sleep. However, in the warm den, the little one cannot sleep. His curiosity overcomes his fear of the terrible Mouse, and he bravely ventures into the dark forest through the heavy snow. Mysterious footprints, evil snakes, and owls lurking at night provide the little one with an unprecedented experience in the forest...This film is adapted from the picture book of the same name co-created by Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler.
