Biologist Dr. Margo (played by Penelope Ann Miller) and detective Vincent (played by Tom Sizemore) encounter a series of chilling murders, all occurring at the natural history museum where Margo works. The museum is preparing for a grand exhibition of ancient artifacts from South America's historical sites, and the director, Ancasper (played by Linda Hunt), has designed various breathtaking exhibition halls, including the "Casoca" area of Brazil, the ancient tomb area of Egypt, the Maya tomb area, a voodoo display room, and a superstition legend display area, hoping to capture public attention and secure funding during the opening gala. As the gala approaches, the murders within the museum remain unsolved, and the police further discover the brutal methods used by the killer, with victims found with their heads broken, having 5.5-foot gaping holes in their skulls, and brain matter responsible for hormonal regulation mysteriously vanished! As the opening gala draws a crowd filled with officials, the Casoca lurks within the museum's winding exhibition rooms, while Margo and Detective Vincent unravel the "Casoca" mystery, and the Casoca manifests at the gala venue, horrific screams echoing in the darkness...
