"Kōbō Daishi" is a film directed by Jun'ya Satō, completed in 1984. It tells the story of Kōbō Daishi, a scholar sent to Tang dynasty China during Japan's Heian period. This film was made to commemorate the 1,150th anniversary of the passing of this high monk, who left a significant mark in Japanese cultural history.
