This work, adapted from Miyuki Takamori's novel "Japan Dignity," tells a story themed around Tsugaru lacquer, a traditional craft from Aomori, commonly known as "Baka-nuri." It depicts how Miyako Aoki, who lacks confidence and struggles with everything she does, confronts Tsugaru lacquer anew while living with her taciturn father, kiyo Shirou, a lacquer craftsman, and gradually finds her own path.
