The feature film "Xu Haidong's Blood Battle at Dingdian" tells the story of a famous battle that took place in Dingdian Town, Yangcheng County—the Dingdian Battle. On July 6, 1938, under the command of Xu Haidong and Huang Kecheng, the 344th Regiment of the 115th Division and the 772nd Regiment of the 386th Brigade of the Eighth Route Army successfully ambushed the mechanized forces of the Japanese 25th Division advancing north along the Longhai Railway near Dingdian, killing over a thousand Japanese soldiers. This battle holds a historical significance equal to that of the "Pingxingguan Victory" in the history of our army's War of Resistance against Japan.
