The unknown rakugo performer Yutaro (played by Oizumi Yo) finds his greatest happiness in his beautiful and kind wife, Saya (played by Aragaki Yui). Although life is poor, with the birth of their son Yusuke, they seem to be sailing towards a happy future. However, fate is unpredictable, and Yutaro dies in a car accident. Unable to let go of his wife and child, he remains as a ghost by Saya's side. At the funeral, Yutaro’s estranged father (played by Ishibashi Ryo) suddenly appears, and in desperation, Yutaro possesses the body of his master to warn Saya to escape quickly. In a panic, Saya takes her child to a remote town called Sasazura. There, she meets a variety of colorful characters, and Yutaro repeatedly possesses others to return to his wife and child. What will the future hold for the mother and daughter? The film is based on the novel "Sasazura Saya" by Kanazawa Tomoko.
