Dr. Tess Coleman (played by Jamie Lee Curtis) is a psychologist and a single mother who raises her daughter Anna (played by Lindsay Lohan) and her younger son. However, Tess and Anna have a troubled relationship, with both disliking each other’s actions. One day, they argue again about Anna’s band and Tess's impending remarriage, expressing that if they were in each other’s shoes, things would turn out differently. Unexpectedly, after reading a strange note from an old woman, they swap bodies.
