Estonian stop-motion animation, Morten is a 10-year-old dreamer. His father is sailing to Salamander. His Aunt Anna, who takes care of Morten, is an annoying yet clever woman. Morten plays house with toy boats and bugs. One day, Morten magically shrinks and awakens on his toy boat – although he is excited to be a real captain, the bugs are the same size as him, and Morten bears an uncanny resemblance to the adults in this "real world"... A storm comes, and the toy boat is sinking. Morten must save the boat and return to reality…
