Release Date: December 28, 1983 Runtime: 105 minutes Box Office: 1.48 million viewers Plot Tora stays in Aburayama's hometown to visit Aburayama's father's grave, living at the temple with the master. The master's daughter, Tomoko, lives in the temple after her divorce to take care of her father. When Tora arrives, he not only brings her joy but also performs rituals for the master, receiving good evaluations. The master's son, Idou, obsessed with photography, abandons his studies to struggle in Tokyo. His girlfriend Hiromi is reluctant to see him go, but Tora uses his own example to help her understand that this is a sign of maturity for boys—his conscious choice of lifestyle. The master hopes Tora will become his son-in-law and inherit everything, managing temple affairs. Tora accidentally overhears a conversation between him and his daughter. Tora presides over the memorial service for Aburayama's father, surprising the Sakurabana couple who traveled a long way. Subsequently, Tora attempts to convert to Buddhism and become the master's pensioner son-in-law, which astonishes the Silverhouse people. In the end, he, who is usually unrestrained, abandons his idea and continues his travels.
