Riko Shirano (played by Mikako Tabe) is a romance simulation game designer who specializes in writing scripts for dating games, filling her mind with whimsical and unrealistic fantasies about love, while feeling disappointed by useless men in reality and her relationships with them. Soichiro Kurokawa (played by Masaki Takahashi) is the CEO of an app company who approaches Riko and commissions her to create a mobile dating game. Although Soichiro is good-looking, he has no understanding of the complexities of women's hearts; his overly straightforward nature causes numerous conflicts with Riko, leading to intense arguments. In reality, Soichiro has been secretly in love with his subordinate, Momose (played by Aya Ohmasa), and, struggling to express his feelings, he enlists Riko as his "love counselor." With Riko's help, the distance between Soichiro and Momose closes, but at the same time, Riko realizes that she seems to have fallen in love with Soichiro amid her deep sense of loss.
