The story takes place in the late 1960s. The world is tumultuous and changing rapidly, and Hollywood, as a barometer of entertainment, reflects this most strongly. The once-popular western star Rick Dalton (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) has few acting offers. He and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (played by Brad Pitt) are deeply troubled, with limited opportunities. Cliff has a strong personality and originally had development opportunities in the industry thanks to Rick's recommendation, but his career faltered after he violently beat Bruce Lee (played by Mike Moh). In search of a breakthrough, Rick moves to a celebrity-filled neighborhood, where his neighbor happens to be the renowned director Roman Polanski and his beautiful wife Sharon Tate (played by Margot Robbie). Amid the clinking of glasses and strange sights, in an era where temptation and danger coexist, no one knows what the next day will bring.
