A BBC television film, this movie is based on a true story and draws on a wealth of facts, with the cooperation and support of the involved parties and their relatives, striving to recreate the whole event. In August 2007, Sophie Lancaster and her boyfriend Robert Maltby were attacked in a park by a gang of teenage thugs; 21-year-old Robert was seriously injured, and 20-year-old Sophie was beaten to death, all simply because they were dressed in an alternative Goth style. Sophie died for being unique. A heartbreaking film from beginning to end, with well-timed flashbacks, starring Nico Mirallegro, Abigail Lawrie, and Chanel Cresswell. Robert loved to draw, while Sophie enjoyed reading Harry Potter. The two young lovers, even when bloodied and on the brink of death, tried to protect each other, while the two main perpetrators of this murder were just 15 and 16 years old. On August 24, 2007, twenty-year-old Sophie Lancaster was kicked to death in a park by a gang of kids. She and her boyfriend Robert Maltby were attacked because they were dressed as Goths. Sophie was murdered for being different.
