Logan (played by Zac Efron) is a U.S. Marine sergeant who unexpectedly finds a photograph of a girl while on the battlefield. Logan narrowly escapes death multiple times during his combat missions in Iraq, and his fellow soldiers refer to her as his lucky charm. While his comrades fall victim to unexpected combat incidents, Logan is the only one to survive, so he comes to see the photograph as his talisman and feels grateful to the girl in the photo. After his service ends, he returns to the U.S. with the determination to find the stranger in the photograph. Thus, Logan embarks on a journey across several cities in America with his dog, asking around until he finally locates the girl named Beth (played by Taylor Schilling). By chance, Logan gets a job at the animal care facility owned by Beth. As they spend time together, they gradually get to know each other, and as Logan learns more about Beth's complicated life, he starts to develop feelings for her beyond gratitude… This film is adapted from Nicholas Sparks' novel "The Lucky One," also known as "The Notebook." It is the seventh of his novels to be brought to the screen.
