During the peak of the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty, Zhaojia Chenxiang (played by Zhou Dongyu), who entered the palace as a maid at the age of thirteen, spends seven years with her good friend Liuli (played by Zhao Liying), who also works at the Qianxi Si.
