Driven by her passion for painting, highland girl Natsumi Kitanoh (played by Kii Kitanoh) leaves her coastal hometown to study at an art university in Tokyo. In the bustling metropolis where space is at a premium, Natsumi takes a job as a hostess at a nightclub to afford tuition, rent, and living expenses. With her naive personality, she has to navigate the insincere and sleazy customers, relying on her smile to survive. During this time, she meets a boy named Ryosuke (played by Sōta Ikematsu), and they end up living together. However, Ryosuke is unambitious and relies on Natsumi for support, causing her temper to flare due to financial pressures. Additionally, Natsumi struggles academically at the art school and faces repeated rejections from various publishers, leading her to seriously reconsider her decision to move to Tokyo. During this period, her senior at the nightclub, Fubuki (played by Asaka Seto), and her daughter Saki (played by Kanon Taniguchi) provide her with rare encouragement and courage, prompting Natsumi to take a new step towards the future… This film is adapted from the autobiographical work of the Japanese "Boorish School" manga artist Rieko Nishihara, which is part of a trilogy along with "Girl's Story" and "Business Story."
