A strange ringtone echoes from the phone, and the caller is none other than one's own name. On the other end, a nonsensical voicemail is left, but without a doubt, it is one's own voice. What is going on? "Caller of the Dead" quietly spreads among college students. Once someone receives this eerie call, they are destined to die tragically at the time foretold by the phone. Yumi (played by Kou Shibasaki) wants to save her friends, Yoko, Kenji, and Natsumi, who have all met their grim fates, but she is helpless to stop it. Yumi's friend Yamashita (played by Shinichi Tsutsumi) also lost his sister to the same call; he tries to help Yumi uncover the truth, but soon, Yumi receives the eerie call as well...
